HEALTCARE
WeekHospital - Upon our arrival we found the usual 20 patients queuing for the usual visit. Among these, and also evaluating the patients from the previous mission, 6 operations were performed under general anesthesia, again thanks to our local collaborators, and 4 minor operations under local anesthesia, for a total of 10 operations. Even after a year's stop we see that the protocols are working and we have found the clinic that welcomes us "Clinique de l'Amitie'" even more up to date both in terms of machinery and specialized personnel; this comforts us and pushes us to prepare the next mission always with the help of our Maxillofacial Surgeon.
Training - Also in this mission we found ourselves training not only the usual stony collaborators, the skilled surgeon Diallo Bakary and the nurse from the village of Koba Baba Coulibaly, but also two specialists, one in Maxillofacial and one in general surgery, telling us that we are also queuing up for this and we are proud of it since it is part of our mission.
WATER
Pozzo Margherita - Unfortunately we were unable to personally verify the N'DJIENI well after a year after construction. The general security situation in Mali at this moment has not allowed us to go and verify the state of the well drilled or the new villages identified by the work of Camara, of MenoMaliMap.. We will update you!
SCHOOL MenoMaliSchool - The project 'A school for Djamballa started' in 2021 continues thanks to the donation from the Foundation Akelius which allowed us to start work on the project already presented and accepted by the community. Also in this sector we were blocked by our local collaborators due to safety concerns on the journey to Djamballa', but we were able to hold meetings with both the company and the village managers to understand the needs and better address sustainability in the future with side activities, such as agriculture and micro credit.
