HEALTCARE
Eleven major surgeries and one minor surgery were performed. The type of pathologies treated in this mission was decidedly more critical than the previous ones. This was possible thanks to an increase in specialized surgical instrumentation as well as thanks to the infrastructure upgrade of the host clinic. The anesthesiological team recorded a change in management with the return to the team of Dr. Togola Modibo, who had followed one of the first WeekHospitals. Finally, the collaboration with Dr. Marc Kone, dentistry specializing in oral surgery in Senegal, and old acquaintance of the week hospital has completed the integrated multidisciplinarity that has made the realization of this mission possible.
Training of the medical personnel who follow us in our activities such as the assistant surgeon Diallo Bakary including the nurse of the village of Koba, Baba Coulibaly..
WATER
Thanks to your donations we have reached 10,800 euros and the Pozzo Margherita project has restarted with a new well. Through Camara's work, other candidate villages were selected and included in the MenoMaliMap . After careful evaluation we chose the village of N'DJIENI 3km from Faladie. We follow the 'Construction of a well' protocol and proceed with the appropriate geophysical assessments to locate the drilling point. We will update you!
SCHOOL
With MenoMaliSchool , the 'A school for Djamballa launched' project in 2021 has already yielded excellent results: of the 60 enrolled in the first year of the course, 48 were found to be eligible to move on to the second year. Furthermore, we already have 50 new enrollments plus the 12 who will repeat the first year. The first Fundamental School of Djamballa, created in partnership with the Rotary Club of Tivoli and the Club of Bamako Koulouba, therefore aspires to become larger with the construction of two more classrooms and related services to be able to host the next classes in view of the planned courses of the six canonical years. We have therefore personally evaluated all the work carried out in these two years by organizing meetings with all the interested parties - from the representatives of the village of Djamballa to the mayor of Faladiè - who enthusiastically welcomed our project.
